Flowmanager optimises flow at vaccination locations of GGD
During the Corona pandemic, we provided maximum support to our customers. We did this by automatically displaying videos about the vaccines (and their reliability) and information from the government. But we also went a step further by supporting the GGDs in queue management at vaccination locations.
Developed together with GGD Drenthe
GGD Drenthe was already familiar with Wachtkamerschermen® due to our digital signage solution. This GGD approached us to help optimise the flow at their vaccination locations. This was the basis for developing Flowmanager®: a solution to manage patient flow and direct patients to the appropriate room. This solution was welcomed by many GGDs and was widely used during vaccinations, including by GGD Drenthe.
Successfully used at four locations
GGD Drenthe has successfully deployed Flowmanager® at four locations. Paulien Nienhuis, project leader at GGD Drenthe, explains: "At our first vaccination site, we used a light system: a green light meant the room was free. But when the location in Hoogeveen was added, we really had to look for something else. This vaccination site is located in a vacant office building, and the space is not clear. We then searched for technological solutions that could help us maintain oversight. And we found this solution in Flowmanager® from Wachtkamerschermen®."
Overview and insight
In addition to maintaining oversight, Flowmanager® also provides insight. Paulien explains: "Through the management environment, we can see exactly how busy the vaccination sites are and whether we need to open additional vaccination capacity. Additionally, the available statistics give us insight into bottlenecks, allowing us to take action and make improvements."
Optimising flow
Another advantage of Flowmanager® is that it optimises the flow at the vaccination locations. A host welcomes the client and directs them to an administration desk. Then the client proceeds to the room where they will be vaccinated. To ensure that the administration desks can continue to work smoothly, a waiting spot has been created for various desks. A client is ‘ready’ for the administration desk, which keeps the process moving efficiently, according to Paulien.
Positive feedback from clients
GGD Drenthe receives many positive reactions and compliments from clients: “Our staff hear from clients that they were pleasantly surprised by how smoothly it went. Some clients were apprehensive about getting their vaccination because they feared long queues or a cumbersome process. But the opposite is true, and clients are very positive about the quick flow.” Paulien indicates that the ‘secret’ of the optimally functioning vaccination locations in Drenthe lies in a combination of close teamwork, a well-thought-out logistical layout, and simple and smart supporting technology. “Flowmanager® provides us with oversight, insight, and promotes the flow at our vaccination locations. We highly recommend it!”
